What is it about the fall that makes everyone instantly happier?

Actually, that was probably a silly question. For me at least, fall means the onset of the ever-wonderful holiday season. There’s something about the change in colors and temperatures, that brings about this blanket of excitement & anticipation for all the fun, festivity that is to come. What can I say, I am a sucker for the fall.

There are so many things I’m looking forward to this fall season, starting with a trip up to Big Bear next weekend to attend the 45th Annual Oktoberfest with a few of our friends. It will be a quick trip, but I seriously can’t wait to be up in the mountains, and really indulge in the fact that the seasons are changing and the holidays are approaching.

A few other things on my ‘I-really-want-to-do-these-things-but-we’ll-see-what-happens’ list: go apple picking in Julian, have a pumpkin carving/cornbread & chili/football-watching get together, and possibly throw a Halloween party.

Seriously though, so much fun to look forward to.

But in the meantime, here’s to the precious present, and a few things that have made me happy lately:
