As a San Diego native, I am confident when I say that the city of Encinitas is the best area in the county. With its eclectic stores, beach front location, and hole-in-the-wall hot spots, it boasts of character and charm. If you are ever in the area, here are a few spots that you MUST hit on your way through:
- St. Tropez Bistro and Bakery: a small French café located on Coast Highway. From its fresh pastries to delectable crepes (both sweet and savory) and array of outside seating, it is the perfect place to catch up with old friends or enjoy the coastal weather — http://www.sttropezbistro.com/
- HOME: a clothing store filled with the perfect combination of softly-worn vintage classics and trendy new pieces — http://www.amomentinyourlife.com/
- Blue Ribbon Pizzeria: a new favorite of mine! This small restaurant offers drinks in mason jars, wood-fired flatbreads, and lots of locally grown produce. [Must try: their truffled popcorn appetizer!] — http://www.blueribbonpizzeria.com/
- The Saloon: don’t judge a book by its cover! This die bar brings together the best of Southern California night life: great music, casual atmosphere, and a perfectly convenient location. The old-fashioned wooden shutters outside are the icing on the cake — no website available 😦
I hope some of these stops in Encinitas resonate with you all as they do with me.
